I’ve been thinking about this from an ethics perspective. So my question is , what would you Brand if not your Reputation?
Reputation will take longer to build than produce a service or product, yet how can you brand something, that isn’t directly based on one’s reputation?
What is reputation? Isn’t it an emotional bond one has with a customer that needs to have its basis in trust? Something has to come first here. They can’t be developed at the same time and I don’t think it is a “who came first, the chicken or the egg” kind of discussion.
If Brand is based on Reputation shouldn’t the emphasis be on running an ethical business as a priority and if it is, then what you doing to ensure that this happens? Don’t customers want to do business with people they trust?
Think about this: what’s your best advertising? Word of Mouth! What’s your worst advertising? Word of Mouth! Word of mouth will make or break your reputation or continue to build it.
The choice is yours and you make this choice every single day. Go slow, choose well!
